MY FAVORITE SUMMER DENIM AND LAST-MINUTE FATHER’S DAY GIFTS

Hello, ladies! I hope you are having a good weekend. After the last couple of weeks of traveling, I’m taking it very easy this weekend. Well, I say that, but I’m doing a major clean-out of some closets, drawers, and so on. I’m a neatnik, and when things start to get a little out of place, I become unnerved. Anyone else identify with me? I spent most of the morning yesterday throwing out expired medications, vitamins, and the like. WooHoo, my weekend sounds fun!

Today, I wanted to share some of my favorite summer denim styles with you. If you’ve followed along with me for a while, you know that I’m a denim girl. I don’t care that it’s 100 degrees in Dallas; I’m still wearing my denim. The key to wearing denim in the summer is choosing lightweight and looser-fitting. For example, the drawstring pair above. This pair is so lightweight and breezy. The drawstring trend on pants is everywhere, and I love that DL 1961 incorporated it into their jeans. The tee I’m wearing is my favorite lately! I love the asymmetrical neck and twist detail. I loved it so much that I bought it in black too. You could definitely dress this up. One more detail of this look is the gold earrings. If you’re unfamiliar with the brand Jenny Bird, you’re missing out. They have the most gorgeous lightweight silver and gold pieces. I am obsessed with the brand!

The look above is a favorite for a date or a girls’ night out. This denim style is from Frame (my all-time favorite). It’s a wide leg with utility-inspired pockets and a higher rise. They are soft with a hint of stretch. I think the pockets make them a little unexpected for a night out. I paired a satin-finish muscle tank-style tee with the prettiest cream-colored blazer for a polished look. This blazer is from Banana Republic and looks very high-end.

The last pair is one of my favorites for the summer. This low-slung baggy pair looks super cool with anything on top. I wanted to pair it with a simple white button-down (similar), sandals (which I’ve worn for three years), and a baseball cap. The jeans are so comfortable, but do tend to run a little large. I suggest going down in size.
